Elite enemies in Octopath Traveler 0 are minibosses found in all kinds of places, from the treacherous rooms in a mansion to dark corners of the woods. An elite enemy is always the strongest foe you may face in a specific map, but fighting them is not mandatory. However, if you’re ready for this challenge, facing them is one of the best decisions you can make in the game, because elite enemies drop a special item that you will need to rebuild Wishvale.

The importance of hunting Elite enemies in Octopath Traveler 0 goes beyond the experience points and the chests they protect. You want to take them down since most elite enemies drop one radiant cornerstone. This special item is required to upgrade the facilities in your town, unlocking new passive abilities, and more housing slots.
Not every elite enemy in the game drops radiant cornerstones, so we listed only the ones that we could find during our playthrough and that give you the item once defeated. Some of these enemies will only appear as you progress in the main quest. There are minor spoilers in this list, so be mindful if you plan on scanning every entry in it before progressing in the main quest.
Menacing Demon Deer – Path to Herminia’s Manse (Woodlands)
You access this area by leaving Valore: Main Boulevar using the south exit.
Menacing Ice Lizardman IV – Emberglow Laboratory: Entrance (Frostlands)
To reach the entrance to the Emberglow Laboratory, leave Emberglow: East District using the east exit.
Menacing Senior Fellow I – Emberglow Laboratory (Frostlands)
You visit this location during the “Master of Power” questline.
Menacing Wind Elemental – Knights Ardante Garrison (Flatlands)
You can’t miss this location, since you visit it during the “Master of Power” questline.
Menacing Accursed Armor – Subterranean Snow Ruins (Frostlands)
To access this location, you must progress in the “Master of Wealth” questline. The entrance to the Subterranean Snow Ruins is in the Snowbloom Ruins area, north of Emberglow.
Menacing Frostwing Serpent – Snowshard Grotto (Frostlands)
You find the entrance to Snowshard Grotto northwest of Emberglow.
Menancing Frost Bear – Emberglow Slopes (Frostlands)
Head northeast of Emberglow to find this area.
Menacing Guard Dog – Auguste’s Villa (Woodlands)
Auguste’s Villa is located north of Valore. Leave the town and, on the Valore Trail, use the north exit to find the villa.
Herminia’s Mighty Soldier II – Herminia’s Manse (Woodlands)
You will visit the place during the “Master of Wealth” questline.
Menacing Sticky Slug – Herminia’s Manse: Cellars (Woodlands)
To find the cellars, you must head east from the entrance and, instead of following the stairs upward, enter the door to the left. Use the stairs to head down and enter the cellars.
Menacing Thespian (Ruffian) – Amphitheatre: Backstage (Flatlands)
This dungeon is located north of Theatropolis and it becomes available as you progress in the “Master of Fame” questline.
Menacing Ettin Asp – Serpent’s Burrow (Flatlands)
The Serpent’s Burrow dungeon is located north of Threatropolis. Take the northwest exit at Theatropolis Plains to enter North Theatropolis Plains, where you find the Serpent’s Burrow entrance.
Menacing Cetus Maximus – Isle of Orsa: Depths (Coastlands)
You have to visit the Isle of Orsa after completing all the three chapters of each “Master of” questline.
Menacing Lightning Elemental – Gray Grotto: Depths (Cliftlands)
Gray Grotto is located west of Cragspear. You must take the west exit in Cragspear Pass to reach the place.
Menacing Carmine Eagle – Geist Canyon (Cliftlands)
Geist Canyon is located on the western side of the Cliftlands region.
Menacing Desert Worm – Finesand Ruins (Sunlands)
You can access the Finesand Ruins by leaving the town of Sunshade, take the east exit at Sunshade Sands, then use the north exit at Eastern Sunshade Sands.
Menacing Master Thief II – Waterpool Caves (Riverlands)
Find the entrance to the Waterpool Caves southeast of Clearbrook.
Menacing Woolly Spider – Cavern of Mists (Highlands)
Head northeast of Shepherds Rock to find the Cavern of Mists.
Menacing Highland Ratking I – Valley of Death (Highlands)
To access the Valley of Death, you must travel southeast of Shepherds Rock.

To find this area, head east of Cragspear. You will visit the Road to Castle Edoras during the “Master of All” questline.
